The receipt page, reviews and returns

The Google review QR on every sale receipt, the customer's receipt page and how they get its link, ordering the same again, and return requests and questions from the receipt page with the Customer requests inbox on the till.

Four things live on the receipt: a QR that asks for a Google review, a page where the customer can see their receipt again, a way to order the same again, and a way to ask for a return or ask a question without coming back to the counter. They come with every plan. Imagine a laundry in JLT: the customer gets the receipt link on WhatsApp, rates you from the paper receipt, and asks about a missing shirt from the receipt page instead of calling.

The review QR

Paste your Google review link once:

  • CreekPOS Online: Settings → Shop, field Review link (Google) (it is also in the first set-up of the shop). It is kept per branch, like the receipt's header and footer lines.
  • Desktop program: Settings → General, the same field Review link (Google). A desktop linked to CreekPOS Online receives it like the receipt footer.

Use your Google Business "write a review" link, or any web link. It must be a web address (https://…) of up to 400 characters, with no spaces; a short address such as g.page/r/… gets https:// added by itself. Anything else is refused with "The review link must be a web address (https://…)". Leave the field empty to switch the QR off.

What prints: every printed sale receipt, from the till app, the Android till and the desktop program, ends with the line "Happy with us? Scan to rate us" and a QR of your link, after your footer lines and before the closing thank-you. It is never printed on a return, a void, a delivery slip or a test print, and the A4 invoice does not carry it.

The link also shows elsewhere: the customer's receipt page has a Rate us button, and the receipt text you share on WhatsApp ends with "Rate us:" and the link (on the desktop too, for sales).

Every sale has its own page on your shop's online address. It shows what the paper receipt showed and nothing more: the lines, the totals, VAT and how it was paid. It never shows the customer's name or the cashier. A voided sale says "This receipt was voided". The page uses your shop's look and languages, and it is not shown in search engines. The link carries a signature: a guessed or altered link does not open.

The page needs your shop's online address (Settings → Online; see Online menu, shop and table QR). Without one, there is no link.

How the customer gets the link:

  1. Open the sale on the Receipts page.
  2. Under the WhatsApp and Print buttons you find Receipt link for the customer.
  3. Press WhatsApp: the text you send carries "Your receipt:" with the link, and "Rate us:" when you have a review link.

The paper receipt prints the review QR, not the receipt page's link. The desktop program's WhatsApp text has no receipt page line.

Order the same again

The receipt page offers Order the same again, in one of two ways:

  • With the online shop on (a plan with the online shop, switched on in Settings → Online): the button opens your online shop with the receipt's items in the cart at today's prices. The page names what can no longer be ordered ("No longer available: …"), and the cart says "Your last order is in the cart: … items." Items out of stock are left out as well. The customer checks out as usual.
  • Otherwise: the page shows Order the same again at the counter, a QR with "Show this code at the till: the cashier scans it and your order is in the cart again." The cashier scans it with the Sell page's scan box, a handheld scanner or the camera, and the till fills the cart at today's prices with a line such as "3 items of receipt 1042 are in the cart" and the products no longer sold. The till looks in its own copy first, so a till that is offline refills a receipt it printed itself; a receipt it cannot find gives "Receipt 1042 is not on this till".

What is not carried over: sizes and add-ons (the base product goes in; the online shop uses the product's default option). Weighed items keep their weight, other items come back in whole pieces, and products you have switched off are named, not added. Every tap makes a new cart, so two people with the same paper each get their own.

Return requests

Under Settings → Shop, the block The customer's receipt page has:

SettingDefault
Return window (days)14 (1 to 365; 14 when empty)
Customers can request a return from the receipt pageon
Customers can ask a question from the receipt pageon

Return requests also need returns switched on for the shop, as for returns at the till.

On the receipt page the customer chooses Request a return: the items still returnable and how many (never more than is left after earlier returns), a reason (Wrong item, Damaged or faulty, Not as described, Changed my mind, Other), a few words, an optional photo (up to 4 MB) and an optional phone number for an answer on WhatsApp, then Send the return request.

Under Your requests the customer follows the state: Waiting for the shop, Accepted — bring the items to the shop, Returned, or Declined with your reason. One return request can wait per receipt at a time. After the window, the page says the return window has passed and that they can still ask a question. Remove my requests deletes their requests and your answers; the receipt stays.

A request never refunds anything by itself: money only moves when your staff make the return at the till.

Questions

Ask a question takes up to 500 characters and an optional phone number. It has no window, and one question can wait per receipt at a time. Your answer appears on the same page under The shop's answer.

The Customer requests inbox

On the till, the Sell page shows a Customer requests: … badge as soon as something is waiting (it is hidden when nothing is, and updates by itself, without a sound). Open it to see each request with the customer's words, the photo and a text box:

  • Accept and make the return opens the receipt's return form with the quantities filled in: "The quantities of the customer's return request are filled in. Check the items, then make the return." The return then works as always, with the usual rights and refund. When it is done, the request becomes Returned, and the customer's page shows the return receipt's number.
  • Reply sends the text in the box to the customer's page.
  • Decline: the text in the box is the reason the customer reads.
  • Reply on WhatsApp appears only when the customer typed a phone number: it opens WhatsApp with your answer, and you send it from your own phone. CreekPOS itself sends no e-mail and no WhatsApp message to the customer.

The Receipts page lists Customer requests on this receipt, and the WhatsApp text of that receipt ends with the latest request's state and your answer.

The photo is made smaller, its hidden details are removed, and only signed-in staff can open it; it is never on a public address. The customer's phone number is used only to answer them and is shown only to staff. Requests are kept 180 days, and the number of requests from one place is limited to stop spam. The desktop program has no receipt page and no inbox. More on the e-receipt page.
