Books · accounting and invoicing

Your accounts, kept by the till you already use

Available now in CreekPOS Online

Books is the accounting part of CreekPOS Online: quotes and invoices, supplier bills, expenses, bank statements, the figures for your VAT return and your profit. Every till sale is posted for you, so Profit and Loss is there from the first day.

On Online Restaurant and Chain. Switch it on in Settings → Features; switch it off and the till carries on as before.

01Dashboard

Profit and cash on one page

Open Books and the owner's page shows what matters this month: cash and bank, profit, what customers owe you, what you owe suppliers, the VAT estimate and the biggest expenses, with a to-do list of invoices to send, bills due and bank lines to match.

  • Profit and loss, balance sheet, trial balance and general ledger, for 1 to 36 months
  • Compared with the month before and the same months last year
  • Profit by branch and by cost centre
  • Every report exports to Excel and CSV

02Till sales

Every till sale, posted for you

Books reads the till. Each day's sales, returns, VAT and payment methods reach the ledger by themselves, as one entry a day or one per receipt, your choice. A sale made offline and synced later is added as a correction; a day is never rewritten.

  • Posted in the background, every few minutes
  • One customer balance for the till, the credit book and invoices
  • A locked month stays locked: corrections are new entries

03Invoices

Quotes, invoices and receipts

Send a quote, turn it into an order, a delivery note and an invoice, in full or in parts. The customer can accept a quote online by typing their name. Record one payment against up to twelve invoices, issue a credit note against the original invoice, and send statements.

  • Three document designs with your logo and your colour
  • Send by e-mail, or as a WhatsApp link you send yourself
  • Recurring invoices issued on a schedule
  • Price lists per customer: retail, wholesale or your own

04Bills

Bills, expenses and suppliers

Enter supplier bills, or create them from the goods you received, pay them from the right account and see what is due this week. Expenses, mileage and recurring costs like rent are entered once and repeat by themselves.

  • A warning when the same supplier invoice is entered twice
  • Supplier advances and supplier credits
  • Attach the paper: a PDF or a photo, kept private and encrypted
  • A bill from a photo, with AI invoice reading (in pilot)

05Bank

Bank statements, matched

Download the statement from your bank and import it: CSV, Excel, OFX or MT940. Books suggests the invoice, bill or transfer each line belongs to, applies your bank rules and reconciles the account. Nothing logs in to your bank, so no bank password is ever stored.

  • Lines imported twice are recognised, and an import can be undone
  • Card settlements, transfers, cheques and petty cash
  • A 13-week cash forecast

06VAT

VAT return figures, box by box

Monthly or quarterly, Books prepares the figures for the VAT 201 return: standard-rated supplies by emirate, zero-rated, exempt, reverse charge and recoverable input tax, with the list of transactions behind every box. You or your accountant file on the FTA's portal and record the reference; Books then settles the VAT and locks the months.

  • Tax codes for 5 % standard, zero-rated, exempt, out of scope and reverse charge
  • An emirate for each branch
  • Prepared figures for you and your accountant: nothing is filed for you

07Accountant

Your accountant, the month close and controls

Invite your accountant with the Books rights they need: view, sales, purchases, bank, journals and closing. Managers get no Books access until you give it. A month-end checklist (bank reconciled, suspense cleared, VAT reviewed, depreciation posted) and a year-end close keep the books tidy.

  • An optional second approval for postings above an amount
  • Invoices and bills in 13 currencies, at the rates you enter
  • Fixed assets with depreciation, budgets against actual figures, cost centres

Plain answers

What Books does not do

  • It does not file your VAT return or work out corporate tax: it prepares the figures, and you or your accountant file.
  • It does not log in to your bank: you import the statement file.
  • Customers cannot pay an invoice by card online yet; the customer's page shows your bank details.
  • Ask your accountant to confirm your invoice layout meets the tax-invoice rules for your business.
  • It is not in the buy-once desktop program.

Questions about Books

Which plans include Books?

Online Restaurant and Online Chain. The owner switches it on in Settings → Features; switched off, its pages disappear and the till works as before.

Will my till sales appear by themselves?

Yes. The day's sales, returns, VAT and payment methods are posted in the background. A sale made offline and synced later is added as a correction, so a closed day is never rewritten.

Does Books file my VAT return with the FTA?

No. It prepares the VAT 201 figures, box by box, with the transactions behind each one. You or your accountant file on the FTA's portal, then record the reference in Books, which settles the VAT and locks the period. It is not tax advice.

Can my accountant work in it without seeing everything?

Yes. Invite them with the Books rights they need: view, sales, purchases, bank, journals and closing. Managers get no Books access until you give it.

Does it connect to my bank?

Not directly. Import your bank's statement file (CSV, Excel, OFX or MT940); Books suggests the matches, applies your bank rules and reconciles. No bank login is stored.

Can I invoice in US dollars or other currencies?

Yes, in 13 currencies at the exchange rates you enter. Bank accounts stay in AED.

Can I use Books for invoices without selling at the till?

Yes. Quotes, invoices, bills, expenses, banking and reports all work on their own; the till's sales simply join them when you sell.
