Your till's day in Zoho Books, Xero or QuickBooks Online, by itself

Coming soon

If your accountant works in Zoho Books, Xero or QuickBooks Online, the end of the month should not start with exporting spreadsheets from the till. Connect it once in CreekPOS Online and each day's sales, your customers on credit and their payments arrive there by themselves, each document once.

Your till's day in Zoho Books, Xero or QuickBooks Online, by itself

A bakery in Sharjah has an outside accountant who keeps its books in an accounting program. Every month the owner exports the sales from the till, sends a spreadsheet, and the accountant types the totals into journals, finds the customers who bought on account, makes invoices for them and matches their payments. It takes a day, and every late receipt from an offline till means doing part of it again.

Connect once

Settings → Connections in CreekPOS Online has a card for each accounting program: Zoho Books, Xero and QuickBooks Online. The owner or a manager presses Connect, signs in on the program's own page and allows CreekPOS, then picks the organisation (the company) to send to. Your password stays with the program: CreekPOS keeps only a sealed token, and you can disconnect at any time.

CreekPOS then reads the program's chart of accounts and tax rates and suggests where each kind of line goes: sales by VAT rate, VAT, cash, card, cost of goods, expenses. Your accountant checks the suggestions once and changes any of them.

What goes, by itself

  • One sales journal per branch and day: sales by VAT rate, the VAT, cash and card apart, returns, the cost of goods if you want it, expenses, cash in and out, over and short. A day is sent after it closes, two hours after midnight.
  • Customers on credit become contacts in the program; each credit receipt becomes an invoice, a return of one a credit note, and each repayment a payment applied to the customer's oldest open invoices. Those receipts stay out of the day's journal, so nothing counts twice.
  • Bills and expenses from Books, if you choose (off by default, so nothing arrives twice when Books already handles them).

Each document once, never an edit

Every document is sent once and remembered. If an answer from the program gets lost, CreekPOS looks the document up there before trying again.

A till that sold offline and synced the next morning does not change a day your accountant already has: the difference goes as an adjustment journal. What is in the program is never edited behind your accountant's back.

If the program refuses a document (an account was deleted there, for example), it is listed under Documents not sent with the program's own words and a Send again button. A daily cap keeps within the program's own limits; the rest goes the next day.

Good to know

  • Connections read your shop's data; they never change your sales, stock or customers.
  • Your Zoho Books, Xero or QuickBooks Online subscription is your own, with its own plan and limits.
  • A Zoho Books organisation is served from its own data centre, the UAE's included.
  • Connections are not AI: they are exact documents built from your figures.

Connections are part of Online Restaurant and Chain, with no add-on and nothing per document (coming soon). Each one is switched on once its set-up with the provider is finished. Read the Connections page and the manual chapter.
