Job orders

Choose the appropriate workspace and branch. Your plan, enabled modules and team permissions determine which actions are available.

Job orders are for shops that take something in and give it back later. They are in CreekPOS Online from the Retail plan, and in the desktop program from version 5.6: see Job orders on the desktop.

Job orders are short tickets taken at the counter. For long jobs with a budget, phases, the team's hours and billing by milestone, progress or time, see Projects; a shop may use both.

Switching on

  1. Open Settings → Job orders (managers), tick the switch, pick a template (Laundry, Tailoring, Repair or General) and save.
  2. Optional, on the same page: usual days until due, the Express percentage (+50 % by default), warranty days, the terms printed on the ticket, shop copy, piece tags, the ready e-mail and the tracking QR, step names and quick notes.
  3. Fill the starter price list: items × services for a laundry, or open-priced services for tailoring and repairs.

A new shop that picks Laundry, Tailor or Repair shop in the setup wizard starts with job orders on.

Taking a job

On the till's Sell page, tap the items into the cart as for a sale and press Job. Pick or add the customer (name and phone), add notes to a line ("stain", "no starch"), tick Express, set the due time and take a deposit. Press Take the job and print: the customer's ticket (with a QR), the shop copy and, in a laundry, a tag per piece (J0042/1 …) on the label printer.

Tailoring adds the customer's measurement set, the fabric (the customer's own, or sold from stock) and a fitting date. Repairs add the device, brand, model, serial or IMEI, the fault, its condition and what was left with it; the passcode is never stored. An estimate puts the job on Waiting for approval until you record the customer's answer.

Taking a job and printing works offline on the till app.

The board

POS → Job orders shows the jobs by step: Received → In progress → Ready (plus Fitting, Waiting for approval, Waiting for parts). Filter by due today, overdue or ready not collected; search by number, phone, name or a scanned tag. When a job becomes Ready, give it a shelf (B4); the customer gets an e-mail if they gave one, and Send on WhatsApp opens the message on the cashier's phone. The tracking page behind the ticket's QR shows the step, the due time and what is left to pay.

Collecting

Scan the ticket or a tag and press Collect on the till app. The deposit pays first; the rest is paid in cash or by card, and the normal receipt or tax invoice prints. Pieces can be collected a few at a time.

The report

Reports → Job orders: received, ready and collected, average time to ready, overdue jobs, deposits held for open jobs, by staff, and jobs ready but not collected for 30, 60 or 90 days. Export to Excel or CSV.

Job orders on the desktop

Job orders are in the desktop program from version 5.6, on the Silver package and up.

  1. Settings → Features: tick Job orders, then press Job order settings… to choose the kind of shop (laundry, tailoring, repair or general), the usual days until due, the Express percentage, warranty days, the terms on the ticket, the shop copy, piece tags, the steps and quick notes.
  2. Taking a job: ring the items up in the cart and press New job. Pick or add the customer, set the due day and time, the staff member, Express and notes, and take a deposit in cash or by card. The job gets its own number, such as J0042 (never a receipt number), and the ticket, the shop copy and the piece tags print.
  3. The board: Job orders on the top bar shows the jobs by step, the list and the report. Search by a scanned ticket or tag, the number, a phone or a name; move a job with Next step, print its ticket or tags, or Send on WhatsApp to tell the customer it is ready.
  4. Collecting: press Collect on the job, or Collect a job under the cart and scan the ticket. The deposit pays first; the rest is paid in cash or by card at the job's agreed prices. Pieces can be collected a few at a time.

A job's items can be changed with Change until something is collected. Voiding a collection gives the pieces back to the job, and its deposit goes back onto the job. Cancelling a job pays the deposit back or keeps it, as you choose.

On the desktop there is no job status page behind a QR on the ticket and no automatic e-mails: the cashier sends the ready message on WhatsApp. Jobs are kept on the main till.
