UAE e-invoicing from Books, through Flick — what is sent and what is not

Coming soon

From 2027 your invoices to companies must travel as e-invoices through an accredited provider. CreekPOS Online's Books sends them through Flick, shows each one's status on the invoice, and turns suppliers' e-invoices into draft bills. Till receipts to consumers stay as they are.

UAE e-invoicing from Books, through Flick — what is sent and what is not

A stationery shop in Bur Dubai sells to walk-in customers all day, and once a week invoices a school and two offices for their supplies. Under the UAE e-invoicing programme, the walk-in receipts stay as they are: sales to consumers are outside it. The invoices to the school and the offices are in scope. For most shops, with revenue under AED 50 million, the provider must be appointed by 31 March 2027 and e-invoicing starts on 1 July 2027. The dates and the rules are on our UAE e-invoicing page. This post is general information, not tax advice.

Books sends, Flick delivers

E-invoices travel through accredited service providers. Flick is the e-invoicing service provider CreekPOS connects to. Before you appoint any provider, check that it is on the Ministry of Finance's list of accredited providers.

Once connected, Books sends every tax invoice and credit note issued to a customer with a TRN as a UAE e-invoice in the PINT AE format, through Flick. Flick delivers it to your customer's provider and reports it to the FTA. Each document goes once.

What you see

On the invoice page in Books, and as a line under the totals of its A4 print, the e-invoice's status:

  • waiting to be sent;
  • sent to Flick;
  • reported to the FTA;
  • reported to the FTA and delivered to the buyer;
  • or refused, with Flick's own words.

If something is missing, the invoice shows what (a buyer's emirate, a credit note's reason) and a short correction form, as long as nothing was filed. An e-invoice already filed is corrected with a credit note, never edited.

Suppliers' e-invoices

Your suppliers will send you e-invoices too. Those Flick receives for you become draft bills in Books, matched to the supplier by its TRN. Your accountant checks and posts them; no retyping.

The readiness checklist

Nothing is sent until the Flick card's checklist is complete: Books on, your TRN and address exactly as registered, connected, your registration with Flick live, the same TRN. Until then documents wait; nothing is lost and nothing is sent wrong.

What is not sent

  • Till receipts to consumers: outside the programme; your receipt stays a simplified tax invoice on paper.
  • A4 tax invoices printed from the till: invoice companies from Books so that they go.
  • Customers without a TRN.
  • Reverse-charge lines: such a document is held as not sent, with the reason.

Your steps

  1. Appoint a provider by your deadline. With Flick, Flick registers your shop and gives you a participant ID.
  2. Set your TRN and address exactly as registered, and switch Books on.
  3. Connect Flick in Settings → Connections with the participant ID, and choose your default credit-note reason.
  4. Invoice companies from Books with their TRN and full address, emirate included.
  5. If your system fails, report it to the FTA within 2 business days: that duty stays yours.

Flick charges for its service separately and publishes no price; ask us on WhatsApp. E-invoicing through Flick is part of Online Restaurant and Chain, with Books (coming soon). Read the UAE e-invoicing page and the manual section.
