Display screens

Choose the appropriate workspace and branch. Your plan, enabled modules and team permissions determine which actions are available.

Display screens put your menu and your order numbers on the TVs over the counter. They are in CreekPOS Online on the Restaurant and Chain plans; the desktop program does not have them yet.

Switching on

Open Settings → Features and switch on Restaurant screens (or use the switch on Settings → Screens). Until then nothing about screens shows in the menus.

Adding a TV

  1. Settings → Screens → Add a screen: give it a name and choose Menu board or Order screen (and the branch in a chain).
  2. The screen's page shows an 8-digit code (valid 15 minutes, used once) and the screen address, with a QR for a tablet.
  3. On the TV, open that address in the browser, type the 8 digits with the remote and press Start. The TV stays connected from then on.
  4. Tap the screen once (or press OK on the remote) to allow full screen and the chime.

From the screen's page you can Disconnect, Connect another TV or Remove it; last seen tells you the TV is on.

Menu boards

A menu board shows the categories you tick, with pictures, prices, sizes and the sale price with the old one struck through. Sold-out items are greyed or hidden the moment the branch's stock runs out. When a category does not fit, the board pages through by itself. Add offer slides (picture, title, price) shown only on the days and hours you choose, and times of day to switch categories (breakfast until 11:00). Choose one or two languages, dark or light, landscape or portrait. A price or stock change appears within seconds; there is no publish button.

The order screen: Preparing and Ready.

The order screen

The receipt number appears under Preparing when the order is paid or reaches the kitchen screen, moves to Ready (large, with a chime) when the kitchen bumps it, or when the cashier presses Ready on the till's Order board, and leaves when collected or after 5 minutes. Counter and kiosk orders show by default; table, delivery and online orders when you tick them. Optionally the last 3 digits only, or the customer's first name; never a phone number, a total or the items.

Which TVs

Any screen with a current web browser: an Android TV box or Fire TV stick (the cheapest good option), a mini PC or old laptop on HDMI (the smoothest, and best for 4K), a smart TV's own browser, or an old tablet for a small order screen. Turn off the TV's own sleep or eco timer. See the hardware page.

Top sellers slide

The top sellers slide comes with the next CreekPOS Online release.

A menu board can thank your team: between its menu pages it shows the top three sellers of today, this week or this month on a podium with a medal each, first names only, and Thank you, team!. Like the screens, it is on the Restaurant and Chain plans.

  1. Open Settings → Screens, then a menu board, and find Team slide.
  2. Tick Show the top sellers between the menu pages. It is off on every screen until you tick it there.
  3. Period: Today, This week (the default; the week starts on Monday) or This month.
  4. Ranked by: Number of orders (the default; the TV shows "12 orders") or Sales amount (the medals alone show the order).
  5. Show the amounts on the TV is off by default: money is not shown unless you tick it.
  6. Save, then press Preview the team slide to see it.

The slide comes after the menu pages and offer slides, with the screen's own seconds per page. Nothing is shown when fewer than two people sold in the period; the board then turns its pages as before.

Who may appear. Settings → Screens → Who may appear on the team slide lists every user of the shop (managers only). Tick Not on the board for anyone who would rather not appear. Name on the TV replaces the name the TV shows (letters only, up to 20); without it the TV shows the first name of the person's staff profile, or of their till account, and a name without any letters is never shown. A photo is optional; without one the TV shows the initial on a coloured circle.

On this screen

Online · Screens

On a tablet or phone you can scan the code instead of typing it.

To move this screen to another TV, get a new code: the old TV disconnects when the new one connects.

Tick the categories this screen shows (none ticked = all). Screen 1 burgers, screen 2 drinks.

The top three by orders over the period, first names only and a medal each. Nothing is shown when fewer than two people sold. Money is not shown unless you tick it below.

The preview opens on the team slide. When fewer than two people sold in the period, the slide is left out and the preview opens on the first page.

An order appears under Preparing when it is paid or sent to the kitchen, moves to Ready when the kitchen screen marks it done (or you press Ready on the till's order board) and leaves when collected. Phone numbers, totals and items are never shown.

Optional: other categories at some hours, e.g. breakfast until 11:00. Outside these hours the screen shows its own categories.
